Optical Illusions

I love optical illusions, it is fun, in my opinion, to see something, or think you are seeing something, at first and then realize the truth, that it is something different, or that you have just been tricked to believe something.

A definition for an optical illusion is: A visually perceived image that is deceptive or misleading.

I wanted to share this with all of you, to find out more about these illusions. Why do we get tricked by them? I suppose there is a scientific explanation to all of these illusions....
I hope you like them...

These are some of my favourite optical illusions:

These lines are all straight...

How many black dots do you see? There are none.

Which middle circle is bigger? They are exactly the same.

Which line is the longest? They are the same...

MAC, this is a great idea to put optical illusions. In my case, I also love them. They are so much fun! Thanks for sharing this with our class.

Mac,

Thanks for sharing this.

I'm wondering if you could describe the steps you used to post these images. Where did you find them and how did you get copies in to your post? I'm not sure if everyone knows how to do this.

Well, in order to copy those images to my post I had to drag the image to the post. I could not copy and paste it because it did not appear once I did that, so I had to select the image and move it to where I wanted the picture to appear. Then I could do all the adjustments. I hope this can be useful to all of you.

i think this is an interesting and fun way to catch up everyones attention. its great to know the truth about this opticall illusions and to really figure out why are you seeing things that really are not in the image. I also think that this kind of things are also in our minds and maybe our minds wants us to see things that really dont exist. (im talking in general, not only optical illusions).
